Living Rock Members bring to the altar of God their commitment to read their Bibles on a regular basis. The average Christian today spend less than 5 minutes per week on his/her Bible. We at the Living Rock Church want to change that.
We filled out a form divided into four copies for our commitment. One is our own personal copy to remind us of our commitment. Another copy we offered at the altar. One copy we will post on the church bulletin board for all to see (to encourage us). The last copy went to someone whom we are going to be accountable to. This someone will check on us every week if we are fulfilling our commitment to the Lord.
We also started a Scripture-memory program. Each week we are going to memorize one verse from the Bible (that's 52 verses in one year!). When we meet each other in the streets, the mall, at the office, in school, everywhere, we will check on each other if we have memorized the memory verse for that week!
